Hello everyone. We moved into the house we're renting about 5 months ago. It unfortunately came with a colony of 20+ stray and feral cats (some are friendly strays, some are completely feral). Fortunately for the kitties, someone who cares about their well being moved in.
This morning, I found one of the Strays with rectal prolapse (Rectal prolapse occurs when part or all of the wall of the rectum slides out of place, sometimes sticking out of the anus) Very painful. I rushed her to the vet, but sadly, they couldn't do anything for her. They said since she's a manx, that even if they did surgery, she would have problems 'going' for the rest of her life. They had to euthanize her. She was a great kitty. No matter where on the property you went, she followed.
The part I need help with: They believe she also had FIV/FeLV (feline leukemia). If anyone knows anything about it. Its contagious, and deadly. We need to test the other cats for it. I can't afford to myself. We have an account set up at the veterinary clinic, and we're trying to get donations for the cats. It's about $36 per cat to test (though they said they might be able to give a discount since they're strays). You can call the vet clinic and donate directly to them, that way you know that's where the money is going.
This is there website: fourcornersvetclinic.com/
You can call them to donate. The account is under the name 'Leslie Earl'
Their phone number is on their website. But I'll post it here too.
I have pictures of some of the strays here if anyone wants to see them: www.facebook.com/lesliesstrayf…
Help if you can. Share if you can. We need to help these poor kitties!
